“O.M.G.” I was saying this over and over in my head, smiling and getting a bit frustrated, as I stare at the message in my reader saying “Rate this book” – that is, telling me that I’ve reached the last page. But not the end, oh no, definitely not yet the end.
I was so excited when I saw this on Net Galley with the Read Now button. Oh yes, I was practically squirming with excitement that I didn’t notice (or maybe, I didn’t mind) it was just a sneak peek!
This book is about the dead. Perhaps, ghosts. Or souls, maybe? I’ve never read a paranormal book before, and I wasn’t planning to. You should know, I’m such a chicken when it comes to these things. I don’t even watch horror movies anymore. But this book just drew me in, and so I took the plunge.
When I came across this for the first time, I fell in love with the cover at once. Just look at that face! After reading a few chapters of the book, I appreciated the cover more. It captured the elements quite perfectly. This cover and Victoria Schwab’s words painted vivid pictures in my mind, and I was transported to another world. And a mysterious world, it was. I was afraid I might read something that wouldn’t let me sleep that night. My coward heart wasn’t ready for that, yet I continued reading. I just couldn’t stop.
It was well-paced, allowing me to absorb every information it offered. And I took everything in – the terminologies, the characters, the memories. Towards the last pages of this sneak peek, something unexpected (at least, for me) happened. *not gonna spoil anything* I’m just so excited to read the rest of the book, as the last few pages made me gasp, and smile, and then frustrated for seeing that “Rate this book” message! Oh, what a tease!
I can’t wait to get this book in my hands, and read everything. Are you excited yet? ツ

Yes, I finished it a few weeks ago. It was so good! If you can, I also recommend reading her other book, The Near Witch. It’s the one that made me her fan in the beginning.
